His British family sees him as an interloper and treats him as such and only the dire circumstances of his grandfather could allow for him to be in their illustrious presence.  A fake fiancée is just what Brandon needed to create an air of respectability; after all, he is one of the notorious “News Princes”; Karina has demons of her own to fight but she is inextricably drawn to Brandon and is quite willing to play the part of his fiancée in his struggle for acceptance with his family.  She never saw it coming that she would become so embroiled in his family’s antics and have her past exposed.
